BEIJING, April 21 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will pay a state visit to China from April 22 to 24, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Monday.
Noting that China and Azerbaijan are strategic partners, spokesperson Guo Jiakun told a regular press briefing that in recent years, under the personal attention and promotion of the two heads of state, China-Azerbaijan relations have maintained a good momentum of development.
The political mutual trust between the two countries has been continuously consolidated, Belt and Road cooperation has achieved fruitful results, and international collaboration has been effective, Guo said.
During Aliyev's visit, President Xi Jinping will hold talks with him to draw up a new blueprint for the development of bilateral relations, Guo said. Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee Zhao Leji will meet with Aliyev, respectively, to have in-depth exchanges of views on cooperation in various fields.
"It is believed that this visit will further deepen the China-Azerbaijan strategic partnership and bring more benefits to the two peoples," Guo said.
